I first met Sally at the Deliverance '98 Convention. She was one of the judges for the fancy dress and just couldn't keep a straight face while I was on, especially when I got on stage and started to saunter towards Gareth.
The funny thing was Gareth hadn't seen me get on the stage. He had his head down and was writing, so Sally elbowed him and pointed up but he still hadn't looked up even though I was standing right in front of him.
After I grabbed him and draped him in my Red feather boa, he look up at me with a great big grin on his face and mouthed "Bitch!" Meanwhile, Sally was laughing so hard she was sliding down her seat with tears in her eyes!
Later, whilst I was doing my Cabaret, Sally was standing in the wings next to a friend of mine, watching my act. She muttered "wow, it's amazing," shook her head, turned to my friend and said "tell him he can do me next!"
On the Sunday afternoon I was asked by the person running the convention to make sure Sally was outside the hotel in time for her car, and keep her company until she left. Needless to say I agreed! When the time came, I met Sally and as we were walking through reception she turned to me and said, "Before I forget, David, you look bloody marvellous in a frock," smiled and gave me a peck on the cheek.
